The season may be over for the 1st and 2nd teams, but Colchester’s high-flying 3s have a huge match this weekend.

The 3s play Mistley in the semi-finals of the Suffolk Silver Cup on Raven Park’s main pitch on Saturday (kick-off 3pm) with a cup final against Bury or Ipswich YM up for grabs.

Mistley are more than just near neighbours, they are also the 3s’ closest rivals having beaten them twice in the league this season to finish as champions, with Colchester in second place.
With more players available and back from injury, this looks like being pretty much the strongest Colchester 3s team of the season.

Roy Abrehart, Head coach of the 3s, says training this week has been spot on and he’s encouraging as many people as possible to come along to the Sports Park to support the team.

“We’d love that ‘one-club’ support,” says Roy. “I appreciate the core season is over, but it would be good to see if we can end up with two league titles and a cup final to boot.”

The 4s end their league season with a home match against Aldeburgh (KO 2pm)
