Our 1st XV pack their kits bags for another coach journey to play Tonbridge Juddian RFC
......we have got positive momentum going into Saturday.
No rest for the wicked! Our 1st XV are off again this weekend, prepared mentally and with strong team spirits as they head to play the top of the league Tonbrdige Juddians RFC.
When Mill Road hosted Tonbridge Juddian RFC we saw a game played in a competitive but good spirit. Colchester 1st XV have brought back that spirit with team work and as quoted by Brett Cutbush "togetherness and commitment". If you're travelling to watch kick off is at 2:15pm.
"Preparation has been good, we've got Joe Mac back with us again to strengthen up the front row, Ben Murphy back and in the back row he gives us a lot of go forward ball so glad to have both of them back. We were disappointed not to come away with a losing bonus point last week, Hertford are a good team and in the top 1/4 of the table so to go to their place and run them as close as we did we can take a lot away from that game. Southend obviously was a massive win for us and then Hertford we played well so we have got some momentum going into Saturday. We came close to beating Tonbridge at home Last year so we will be travelling to Kent with that in mind. I think they will remember what we are capable of too so I don't think they will be expecting an easy ride just because of our position in the league." Captain, Liam Pickett
"After the win against Southend, we felt really confident going into the game last weekend against Hertford but we always knew it was going to be tough. Unfortunately we ended up on the losing side this week but there are still plenty of positives to take out of it into this week and for the rest of the season. We know how much work there is for us to do in order to stay in this division but if we can continue to show the togetherness and commitment we have shown in the last two games then we will give ourselves the best chance. From a personal point of view, it's been nice to put in a solid performance, particularly after being sidelined for a couple of months through injury." Brett Cutbush, scrum half.
Can't make it to the game? Not to worry, we'll be live tweeting and snapchatting the action, so make sure you follow us on Twitter @ColchesterRFC and snapchat: colchesterrugby Why not send our players some support using #ComeOnCol

Man of the Match
Man of the Match is a new initiative to reward players for their outstanding performances on the pitch, often against fully and semi professional teams. This weekend Brett Cutbush grabbed the headlines with his Man of the Match performance, as chosen by the coaching staff.
DoR Anthony O’Riordan voiced "Brett was chosen because of the commitment demonstrated in every aspect of the game. His outstanding can do attitude and "follow me" style of play aiding in a relatively close game narrowly missing out on a bonus point loss."
Brett was awarded with a bottle of champagne courtesy of Nethergate Wines and also a voucher for dinner for two.
Thanks goes to new sponsors Nethergate Wines for providing the champagne.

No your computer hasn't been hacked by the French... (It's Throwback Thursday)
As England scraped a win against the French on Saturday it brought back memories for a few old players with a victory over the French not so long ago...
Captained by Colin Perkins Colchester played Avignon, and won! 17-13! What also made this game special was at the time the club was celebrating its Silver Jubilee! That should give you a clue as to what year it was... (mille neuf cent soixante seize)
The team photo can be found on our social media, so if not already give us a follow to see and let us know if you recognise anyone!
Stay tuned for next week and a Welsh themed Edrychwch yn ôl Dydd Iau!
As with any Throwback please do get in touch if you have any old pictures, videos, newspaper clippings, selfies. All would be greatly appreciated!! We love sharing!
