About the team

Welcome to the homepage of the CRFC Mini sections

If you are aged between 6 and 12 years old then you can join one of the biggest Mini Rugby sections in the county – every Sunday morning more than 300 players turn up to receive first class coaching from over 50 mini coaches, all well qualified and even more enthusiastic.

Each age group has a head coach, a team manager and you can contact them on the links below

Coaching takes place on Sundays starting at 9.30am, please aim arrive at 9.15am for a prompt start and to avoid car park congestion, coaches are typically there from 9:00am. Parking is provided in our spacious car park.

After coaching, we welcome players into the clubhouse main room (straight ahead at the top of the stairs) where you can purchase drinks and food but **** Please remove rugby boots before going upstairs ****

Throughout the season we will be participating in several matches both home and away against other clubs. The duration will be an estimated time of 1 hour with travel typically up to 45 mins for away fixtures.

In addition to matches we’ll participate in several festivals (or tournaments). The duration is typically a full day, with travel up to 2 hours. No food or beverages are provided by CRFC or the hosting club for festivals although onsite catering is provided and often other entertainment for the kids between and after fixtures. Please feel free to bring chairs, blankets, umbrellas, picnic etc.
We try to balance the number of matches and festivals evenly between the squads.

Responsible Adult
We ask that a responsible adult is pitch side during the complete session to take responsibility for your child. The coaches do not count, as we cannot give individual care to children.

Kit
You will know most of this anyway, but it is important that your youngsters are warm and hopefully as dry as conditions allow. Activities will continue whatever the weather (providing it remains safe).
· Rugby boots or appropriate footwear and Trainers (please note that if your son is being coached / playing a match on an all-weather pitch he / she must wear studded boots – (trainers / bladed boots are not allowed)
· Rugby training kit, to include waterproof top and a hat
· Protective equipment if desired
· Gum shield / mouth guard – correctly fitted
· Change of clothing for wet-weather conditions
· Drinks bottle

Club Shop
Our club shop is open at various times during the week and at weekends – it stocks all our CRFC kit as well as other rugby related merchandise, ideal for the last minute gift or panic.

Pitchero
Every player (or parents in the case of youngsters), supporter, official or anyone interested in our club should go to www.colchesterrugby.co.uk and click the join button in the top right hand corner – it is free to join our website. Follow the prompts to enable you (and your player) on the system. You can opt out of communication from the club although we would rather you did not.
Once members have joined, the club will ensure that you are assigned to the correct role and team, so that you can access the information available about fixtures, coaching, and events. Team Managers will prompt players or parents to select availability for training or matches, results and other information can be uploaded so the club website will become a central hub for everything club related.

Please do come and see our fantastic new facilities and enjoy the best sport in the world.
